Principal's "About Me"

Mr. Leach

I am a native of western Pennsylvania, growing up in a large family as the fourth of five siblings. I attended high school in a small town and participated in several clubs and played multiple sports. I continued my education at Juniata College, where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Unified Elementary and Special Education while also playing collegiate football.

Upon graduation, I relocated to Virginia and started my teaching career as a 5th grade teacher.  I was then asked to dust off my special education license and move to the high school level where I worked as a collaborative and self-contained special education teacher.  During my tenure there, I became the department chair for special education and also served as an assistant football coach and assistant athletic director.

After teaching for several years, I went back to school and earned my Masters of Education degree from The College of William & Mary in Administration and Supervision.  For the past seven years, I have served as a high school assistant principal in both Williamsburg-James City County (4 years) and York County School Division (3 years).

I am happily married to an elementary school teacher and have two boys, ages 6 and 4, along with two dogs at home.

I am thrilled to lead West Point Middle School and be a team member of the number one school division in the state.
